Google Site Maps – A Key To Search Engine Rankings

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Today’s issue of Search Marketing Blog, focuses on the Google Site Map Feed. Best used to help businesses with their Orange County Web Design and Orange County SEO

Google Site maps is an easy way for you to help increase website coverage in the massive Google site index. It’s a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google to keep us informed of all your web pages, and when you make changes to these pages.

With Google Sitemaps you get:

  • Better coverage to help users find more of your web pages
  • Better Google search results

Google Sitemaps: A More Efficient Way to Submit Your Webpages … and now Yahoo! has copied Google and wants users to submit an xml sitemap also!

It used to be, getting new pages or sites indexed by Google took a long time. That’s because Google wants to find new sites as a link from pages that Google already knew about. Google’s spider typically revisits pages that are already indexed and discovers new links that point to new pages. Now Google wants to learn about new sites as a specifically formatted list which is submitted directly to them.

Google Sitemaps requests you to place a specially formatted site map file (in xml language) on your web server. Then, when you notify Google of the new site, the Googlebot spider will crawl your pages and place your site in the index.

Benefits of a Google Site Map

Easier to find and index all pages of a site

Providing Google with a personalized map to the pages in the site is the best strategy for getting your site in the massive Google index.

No more waiting

Get’s the site spidered & indexed must quicker – and the site owner has more control.

Internet Phone Service – Good Quality & Cheap!

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

It’s certainly bad news for the phone company: Good, cheap, quality Internet phone service has arrived.

Famous (and rich) folk like Howard Stern use Internet phone service from Vonage. The Vonage service allows Howard and me to make, for $39.99 per month, unlimited phone calls anywhere in the U.S. and Canada and darned cheap phone calls to anywhere else in the world. It uses real phones and real phone numbers and is just like the service you’re used to, except that calls are routed over the Internet rather than over a telephone company’s network. Vonage is aimed at people with broadband Internet connections (primarily DSL or a cable modem) and uses a technology called voice over Internet protocol (VoIP). And it could kill your phone company. Internet Phones are the future!

Key West Fishing Update

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

Here’s the latest update on weather & conditions on Key West Fishing:

As of early February, 2007, Key West has had some cooler weather but things have made a turn today for sunny skies and temperatures back in the upper 70s to low 80s. This means that there may be a lull in the permit and key west tarpon fishing but they will return quickly to the flats after a few days of warm sunny weather.

Key West Barracuda fishing has been fun and productive in the Lower Keys backcountry and west of Key West. We have good luck sight casting to them on sunny days and blind casting during cloudy days along channel edges.
